itsubishi Outlander PHEV Extends Lead to remain the most common Low Carbon car on UK Roads

This week it has been announced that the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV has gained even more traction in the UK, extending its already considerable lead over the Nissan Leaf to once again be crowned the most common low carbon car on UK Roads.

An analysis of latest DVLA data has shown a whopping 29,408 Outlanders on the road as of the end of June 2017 which is an increase of 1,731 on the previous quarter. This is in stark comparison to the nearest competitor in this field, The Nissan Leaf, which boasts a mere 17,352 on the road. This clearly shows that the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is the UKs number 1 choice for plug-in hybrid vehicles and low carbon vehicles

From June 2016 to June 2017 there was a massive increase of 59% on the number of vehicles eligible for the UKs Government Grant Scheme for low carbon emission vehicles on the road. These grants can take a large amount off the cost of one of these vehicles, with the grant for the PHEV being as much as £2,500.

This is an encouraging sight for both the manufacturers but also those worried about “Eco – Friendly” forms of transportation. The automotive market is making huge strides in this field and the progress to date has been enormous. Companies like Mitsubishi, Tesla, Renault and BMW are all creating state of the art incredible technology in order to make these eco-friendly cars as easy to drive and live with as traditional vehicles.
